About Us

Lady's Choice has been serving delicately curated fine teas since 1926. This tea house originated in the humble home of Rita Vedan in Chicago, IL. Her interests in the art of tea brought her to partner up with fellow tea artisans in Chicago and New York. When Rita's children moved to New York in 1954 to pursure their careers, she too ventured there to grow the business with her New York contacts. After all, home is where her family is - as she used to say.

The Vedan family still oversees the operations for this tea house and invites the very best tea connoisseurs who reflect their same passion for tea in to the Lady's Choice Family.

Bianca

Bianca leads the amazing team of tea experts at Lady's Choice. She is a world traveler, tea expert and author of 8 tea books. In her daily practice and experimentation, she finds that tea is an art form that constantly evolves with variables such as time, trends and mood.

Jade

jade ×
Jade is a member of the International Tea Masters Association. Flavor profile, complexity and aromatic notes is favorite topic of conversation. Drawing from her background in traditional eastern medicine and herbology, she uses her extensive knowledge and experience to personally select each tea in our carefully curated tea library.

Nora

Tea sommelier specializing in fine tea and tea ware, with particular interest in Chinese, Japanese and Taiwanese tea. Tea is also an art form to her – she loves unlocking new flavors in your food by pairing it with tea.

Olivia

As one of the principal tea taster, Olivia have a vast knowledge of teas, tea plantations and factories in many parts of the world. Passionate about tea and the fine arts alike, she provides a unique perspective and aeshetic as she teaches educational tea masterclass seminars around the museum district.

Sienna has travelled and tasted her way around the world’s tea estates whilst working as a master tea buyer and inquisitive blender. She enhances her tea selection constantly and is enthusiastic about exotic blends and food pairing.

Selene has a background is Japanese aesthetics, including Japanese Tea Ceremonies and Japanese Floral arrangement. She applies the idea of everything has a purpose when blending teas as well as her presentation of the tea. She is also curates the photgraphy, art and floral arrangement at Lady's Choice.
